The punters in the Football Transfer Tavern think that he has played very well this season…
Much has been made in the Tavern surrounding Chelsea’s approach to their loan policy, but one player that has undoubtedly benefited from the system is Christian Atsu.
The Ghanian winger has spent several years on loan since joining the Blues, and this season looks set to be his best yet.
After a slow start in Newcastle, Atsu has really found a run of form and has impressed under Rafael Benitez – with the Magpies looking good this season.
However, whilst the Blues in the Tavern were looking forward to seeing him in a Chelsea shirt next season – he could be set to make his Newcastle stay permanent.
According to Chronicle Live, Christian Atsu could be set for a permanent move to Newcastle – and it could happen as early as January.
They add that the Magpies have a clause that would allow them to buy Atsu if he impresses – and at present; he appears to be making all the right noises.
The Ghanian winger has never really been given much of a chance at Chelsea, and his signing always seemed like a strange one.
Atsu has really impressed everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern, though, and if Newcastle win the Championship this season – he will no doubt have a big say in it.
