Chelsea fans have finally found a reason to love Maurizio Sarri

It’s fair to say that Maurizio Sarri isn’t too popular amongst Chelsea fans at present. Despite Chelsea’s decent performance against Man City on Sunday, the Blues still fell short, and that just adds to a long line of disappointing results for the Stamford Bridge outfit.

The Blues have really fallen off the wagon since their fantastic start to the season, and at the end of the day, the buck stops with the manager.

However, that doesn’t mean that everything the boss does is unpopular with the Chelsea faithful. Indeed, it’s fair to say that his latest comment has certainly won him a few fans online.

As per the official Chelsea Twitter, Sarri has noted that Emerson Palmieri is playing well, with a good mental and physical condition – whilst also confirming that, at least for the weekend, Alonso was dropped in favour of his left-back rival.

Sarri reports that Marcos Alonso was not on the bench on Sunday as he did not want a left-back among the subs. He says that has been the case also with Emerson. He adds that Emerson is playing well at the moment; he is in a good mental and physical condition. #CHETOT

This has gone down very well with the Chelsea fans. Indeed, Marcos Alonso’s form has been poor in recent weeks, and lots of supporters were clamouring to see more of Emerson. Now they’ve got their wish, they couldn’t be happier. See what they’ve said below:
