Leeds United reportedly want to take Chelsea full-back Reece James on loan in January, according to Football Insider.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with Wigan Athletic in the Championship, but he has been called up to play a part in Frank Lampard’s senior squad this time out.
Having injured his ankle whilst playing for England Under-20s in the summer, James has only just returned to fitness and played a pivotal role in the Blues’ 7-1 thrashing of Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup last month – scoring and assisting against the Mariners at Stamford Bridge.
James is yet to play for Chelsea in the Premier League, however, with Leeds now reportedly keen on giving him the valuable first-team experience he needs as they look to finally obtain promotion to the top-flight this season.
After Frank Lampard’s very public dispute with the Whites last term – when Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was found guilty of ‘spying’ on his Derby side before the two sides met in the Championship – it would surely be a surprise to see the ex-England international do business with the Yorkshire side.
Here’s how Chelsea fans reacted to Leeds’ reported interest in James on Twitter:
The reporter really thought that Lamps, who had a dispute with Leeds last season, would loan James to that club?
Laughing right now.
