The Blues managed to overcome the challenge of the Saints without ever really getting out of second gear, as Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi made sure Frank Lampard’s side capped off an impressive week of football.
Although Willian did not get on the scoresheet on Sunday afternoon, the 31-year-old did have a strong display as he created an assist for the second goal of the game and put in a solid performance over the course of the 90 minutes.
According to data collected by WhoScored, the winger managed to achieve figures of two shots, three key passes and one completed cross which earned him a match rating of 7.90.
Willian has been a focal point for criticism with many of the club’s supporters in the past, but it appears he has converted those negative feelings into positive ones whilst playing for former team-mate Lampard.
