Chelsea: Fans react to injury news as N’Golo Kante and Andreas Christensen ruled out of Newcastle clash

Chelsea welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge this weekend searching for their third consecutive win in the Premier League following victories over Brighton and Southampton prior to the international break.

Frank Lampard’s side currently sit fifth in the Premier League as things stand, but could move to as high as second with a win over the Magpies, should results elsewhere work in their favour.

The form of Tammy Abraham will give Blues fans great cause for optimism, with the England forward scoring eight goals in his previous eight league appearances, which included the opener against the Saints a fortnight ago.

Ross Barkley could well start this clash after a fantastic performance for England against Bulgaria on Monday evening, which saw the ex-Everton midfielder bag two goals for the Three Lions during a 6-0 rout in Sofia.

N’Golo Kante and Andreas Christensen have been ruled out of tomorrow’s fixture with injuries, while Mateo Kovacic has been training despite limping off for Croatia against Wales on Sunday night, via Chelsea’s official Twitter account.

Here’s how Blues fans reacted to the news on social media:

Injury here, injury there 😭

Kante has been unlucky this season. Hopefully he can be back for Ajax.

I’d start Barkley……Ross is a confidence player & he played very well for England. Why was N’Golo called up for France!

I am beginning to see Christiansen as an injury prone player.
