Chelsea finished their pre-season preparations with a 2-2 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach at Borussia-Park over the weekend.
Goals from Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley, both from the penalty spot, drew the Blues level after they found themselves 2-0 down at half-time.
Conceding 11 shots that game, it was not the most solid performance by Andreas Christensen, who was returning to the club he spent two seasons on loan at, and the rest of Chelsea’s defence.
Still, plenty of Chelsea fans took to Twitter a day after the match to praise the 23-year-old, who will now be vying against the likes of David Luiz and Kurt Zouma for a starting spot in central defence when Frank Lampard’s side take on Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
The west London club, however, could be without key midfielder N’Golo Kante, with Lampard unsure whether the Frenchman will be fit enough to feature (via Evening Standard) after missing most of pre-season due to a knee injury.
