How times have changed for Gareth Bale and our punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern cannot wait to hear what Metro have to say about it.
The Real Madrid winger is now persona non grata at the Santiago Bernabeu and it seems that Chelsea have joined the race to bring him back to England ,and would be willing to pay him £300,000 per week in order to do so and beat off competition from Manchester United, who have long been linked with a move for the Welshman.
Bale is learning that once you get on the bad side of the Real Madrid faithful, it is rather hard to get back into their good graces and the word scapegoat has been banded about more than most in the last few weeks.
Jose Mourinho is well aware of how good Bale is and the fact that he would massively add to the Chelsea side – and is willing to splash the cash to make that happen.
