With both Chelsea and Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern constantly bickering as it is, the capital counterparts have seen their topics of conversation move to another fiery level of late.
Such is the nature of London’s growing-ever-bitter rivalry, the Blues and the Gunners in the bar have been rather surprised to hear BOTH clubs have been linked with a move for a Manchester United star. According to the Sun, Jesse Lingard is a target as he enters the final year or so of his deal at Old Trafford.
Antonio Conte is believed to view the England international as a potential option to operate as both a wing-back and a forward in his 3-4-3 formation, while Arsenal are thought to have tracked him of late. The England international has just 12 months left of his current deal and big rivals are said to be ready to swoop in on the 24-year-old.
Having progressed through the youth ranks at his boyhood charges, the winger has made his route into the first-team in the last year or so, also forcing his way into the England squad. As you can well imagine, the United fans are desperately hoping he remains with them.
