Chelsea will hope to have a hugely successful summer in the transfer market, as the Blues look to make the additions needed to ensure they can once again challenge for the Premier League title after coming up well short last term.
Manager Antonio Conte’s future remains up in the air, and there is a growing feeling that we will not see the Italian at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of the new campaign.
However, our Blues fans here in the Tavern are hopeful that issues within the club can be resolved, and they still believe that the club can attract some of the top names in Europe.
One player our landlord thinks would be a superb addition is Bayern Munich and Germany star Joshua Kimmich, who has developed himself into one of the top fullbacks in the world over the last two seasons.
Valued at a whopping £49.5m by Transfermarkt, the classy right back was in superb form for Bayern last season, notching up an impressive 17 assists in all competitions, while also chipping in with six goals, meaning he was an integral part of the success Munich had.
While Chelsea do have Davide Zappacosta and Victor Moses in the right wing back slot, Kimmich is simply a step above both, and if Chelsea could pull off an ambitious swoop for the 23-year-old, they would have one of the world’s best on their hands.
A classy operator, Kimmich would improve the squad and first team at Chelsea no end, and would be a massive signing for the club.
Blues fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
