Chelsea fans are eager to hear what the Daily Star have to say here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it seems one of their best players has been speaking to Real Madrid.
Luckily for the Blues, the player in question is not Eden Hazard – who has been strongly linked with the La Liga side this season – but instead goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The Czech Republic international looks certain to leave Stamford Bridge after losing his place in the starting line-up to Thibaut Courtois.
The player’s agent Viktor Kolar was speaking about a potential January move and claimed: “We’ve been in contact with Real Madrid, but they don’t need a keeper just now.
“It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title.
“Petr still has the ambition to play as many matches as possible. But it´s impossible now. However, he has a good feeling from the overall attitude towards him.”
Chelsea fans. Is keeping Cech at the club for the season as your backup option vital to the title challenge or should you allow him to leave and reignite his career elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts below.
