Chelsea produced a statement performance on Wednesday night, dismantling Aston Villa 4-1 after initially falling behind. João Pedro stole the show with a superb hat-trick, while Cole Palmer also found the net in an emphatic win.
The result keeps the Blues firmly in the race for Champions League football. Under Liam Rosenior, Chelsea have shown encouraging progress and now sit fifth in the Premier League, just three points behind fourth-placed Villa.
Regardless of whether they secure a top-four finish, the club are already looking at ways to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.
One highly-rated midfielder has now emerged as a potential target.
Chelsea to Move for Pavlovic
Aleksandar Pavlovic could become a name to watch in the coming months, with the Bayern Munich youngster attracting strong interest from the Premier League.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea are expected to open discussions with the Bundesliga champions in the coming weeks to explore the possibility of a deal.
However, any negotiations are unlikely to progress quickly given Bayern’s firm stance and the player’s own intentions.
Sources also claim that Manchester City have already held informal talks with people close to the midfielder, highlighting the growing interest in his services across Europe. Despite that attention, Pavlovic’s priority remains staying in Munich.
The 21-year-old Germany international has previously suggested he could spend his entire career at Bayern, explaining that as long as the club continues to match his ambitions, he sees no reason to move elsewhere.
Described as “super consistent” by Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann, Pavlovic is under contract with Bayern until 2029. His estimated market value sits around €65 million, a figure that reflects both his potential and the difficulty any interested club would face in trying to lure him away from the Allianz Arena.
While Chelsea are expected to explore the situation, convincing Bayern to sell — and Pavlovic to leave — could prove extremely difficult. Unless something changes in the coming months, the midfielder appears firmly part of the German giants’ long-term project.
