Metro have Chelsea fans looking up from their discussions about last night’s League Cup fixture at Derby County here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They are asking our landlord the to spill the beans on the latest gossip about the Blues and we cannot blame them.
The publication has claimed that Jose Mourinho is happy with his squad and despite the transfer market opening again soon, the Blues will NOT be entering the market and will not be spending any more money.
Now whilst we may have expected that, one thing that our regulars are a little bit surprised at is the fact that the Blues want to keep all their players.
Especially with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Petr Cech being continually linked with moves away to receive more regular playing time.
Not only that, but Andre Schurrle has also been linked with a permanent switch away yet Mourinho dispelled all notions of a move with his latest comments.
He claimed: “We have a short squad but we’ve got good players, some younger, some older, but the squad is very, very good,
“Our project is to start and finish the season with the same group of players, so there will be nobody to leave and nobody to come in either.”
Chelsea fans. Do you share Mourinho’s notion that you don’t need to add any new bodies this January transfer window? Let us know your thoughts below.
