Brighton & Hove Albion fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see manager Chris Hughton sign some more players ahead of the new season.

The Seagulls won promotion to the Premier League last year after finishing second place on 93 points just one point behind Championship winners Newcastle United.

The south coast club has already seen goalkeeper David Stockdale depart and while Mathew Ryan has been signed from Valencia as his replacement, fans in the Tavern are concerned the club are vulnerable to more first team players being sold.

Punters at the bar have been mulling over players the club should feasibly be able to bring in to add some reinforcement – and extra firepower – to the team.

The Toulouse striker is attracting attention from all around the continent, after two recent consistent seasons in Ligue 1 has seen him bag 22 goals.

While his goal tally remains respectable but far from astounding, punters at the bar believe the Danish international could be better suited in the Premier League surrounded by better players.

At the right price, he could turn out to be a bargain in today’s transfer market and supply the Seagulls with the extra firepower they need.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Antonio Conte may be reluctant to let the 21-year-old depart permanently, but allowing him the chance to see more first-team football could tempt him to send him on loan.

Nathan Ake impressed at Bournemouth last year and proved a loan spell at a south coast club can come with massive benefits.

Not only would it allow Loftus-Cheek more of the Premier League experience he needs but also some much need reinforcement to Brighton’s midfield.
