City could improve their left-back woes by signing Marcelo Saracchi

Manchester City have found their top form and look a formidable obstacle for any team to get past right now, as Chelsea found out the hard way.

Having smashed Maurzio Sarri’s side 6-0, City are well on course to continue their title push and with players finding their best performances, everything seems to be coming together for them.

Manchester City had no problems defensively despite suffering badly during games this season, especially down the left-hand side.

Benjamin Mendy has, again this season, endured a long injury lay-off, meaning a number of players have since tried to fill his void.

With none of Laporte, Zinchenko or Delph being consistently able to deliver there, Man City need a player who could be back-up in that role, someone like RB Leipzig’s Marcelo Saracchi.

Saracchi, (who is valued at £12.6 million on Transfermarkt) has a big future ahead of him if utilised correctly.

Currently with RB Leipzig after signing with the Bundesliga outfit last summer, the 20-year-old has shown what a top player he threatens to be in his 19 outings so far.

Saracchi has helped his side achieve five clean-sheets whilst also being a continuous threat down the left-hand side as he is no stranger to getting forward as well.

The 20-year-old has already twice played for Uruguay’s national side and that is testament to the quality he shows on the pitch.

Although when Benjamin Mendy is fit Saracchi would probably be benched, the youngster can learn from his left-back partner and improve his overall game because of it.

Competition for places especially in the Premier League is vital and should Manchester City equip themselves with another talented left-back, there is no position you could say is a weak link.
