An agreement is in place for the South American to join any interested club for £16.5 million providing the Baggies aren’t promoted to the Premier League. But, if they are promoted then the price goes up.
Indeed, Ashley is only prepared to fund moves for younger players whose value in the transfer market is likely to increase during their time at St James’ Park.

Indeed, it comes as no surprise that Ashley is looking to ruin things once again, and it could also have a knock on effect on Rafa Benitez’s contract situation as he clearly wants Ashley to invest.
Ashley would be very stupid not to bring the Venezuela international star to St James’ Park on a permanent deal in the summer as he’s cured the Magpies’ goalscoring problem and has shown he belongs in the Premier League.
