The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are disappointed with this…
Arsenal have built quite the collection of impressive young players in recent years – with young Daniel Crowley considered in the Tavern as one of the best.
A young English midfielder, Crowley impressed enough during his time within the Arsenal academy to warrant a spell away from the club, first to Barnsley last year – and to Oxford United this season.
Whilst his trip to Barnsley was impressive, his spell with Oxford United has been decidedly less so – and it seems that Arsenal have deemed it appropriate to take action.
As per Oxford United’s official website, Arsenal have cut short Daniel Crowley’s loan spell with the Oxford-based side, having had a ‘review clause’ included in the deal. This clause, seemingly, allowed Arsenal to consider whether they felt the loan was working well for Crowley – and it would appear as though they feel that it was not.
It has not come as a surprise to the Arsenal fans in the Tavern, though, considering how little Crowley has played this season. He has made 11 appearances, which could be considered a decent return – but just 2 of those have been from the start.
Arsenal, seemingly, feel that Crowley is deserving of more of a significant role, and 9 substitute appearances just isn’t good enough.
Our landlord thinks that another loan in January is a likely step for the young midfielder.
