The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side to promote a few young players into the first team. Antonio Conte has shown a desire to do just that, but so far, his results have been very poor. With the Carabao Cup returning to Stamford Bridge this evening, the Blues will be expected to progress in the competition, but Conte will also be expected to give a few young players a chance.

He has already stated that he is looking to give the duo of Charly Musonda and Kenedy a chance, but could he give any other players an opportunity? Chelsea have got so many games coming up, and so they need to make sure that they are spreading out the workload over the coming weeks and months.

In truth, Everton are an opponent that Chelsea should beat comfortably, and so it makes sense to give a few chances to some deserving young players.

With that said, Conte should give these 2 Chelsea young players a chance against Everton tonight – agreed?

Ethan Ampadu

Ethan Ampadu got his chance in the last round of the Carabao Cup, but could he get an opportunity from the start this time around?

A talented midfielder, he is an excellent passer and is great at breaking up play.

Conte clearly rates him very highly, and he has a very bright future in the game. Chelsea’s lack of options in the middle of the park mean that it would certainly make sense for the Blues to give a few more midfielders a chance.

He’s also versatile, and so he could fill in in the defence too. That is something that Conte is sure to be a fan of.

 Kyle Scott

Kyle Scott isn’t a particularly well-known name in the Transfer Tavern, but he has featured within the Blues’ first-team squad very frequently this season.

That said, he has yet to really get an opportunity, and so he certainly deserves a chance in the Carabao Cup.

Like Ampadu, he is a talented midfielder with a real eye for a pass, whilst his high work rate would align himself nicely with Antonio Conte’s philosophy.

There is no point including him within the squad if he isn’t going to feature. He’s wasting away at present and he simply must get a chance.
