Conte simply must drop these 2 Chelsea players against Bournemouth – agreed?

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for the Premier League to return this weekend. After a few poor weeks, the Blues were able to secure back-to-back victories against Watford and Everton respectively, with things looking far more rosy at Stamford Bridge right now. They’re still not in their best run of form, but it’s clear that Antonio Conte’s magic is beginning to work once again.

The Blues have a tough run of fixtures to deal with, though, with a difficult trip to Bournemouth on the horizon this weekend. The Cherries have really struggled so far this season, but Eddie Howe is a master tactician, and he’s sure to get his side out of trouble before too long. If Chelsea aren’t careful, that turnaround could start this weekend.

As a result, it’s pretty clear that Conte needs to pick a strong side, and that could mean that he makes a few major changes. Against Watford last week, despite the win, a few players just weren’t good enough, and so a few tactical moves could be forthcoming.

With that said, Conte simply must drop these 2 Chelsea players against Bournemouth – agreed?

Alvaro Morata

This is sure to anger a few Chelsea fans.

Alvaro Morata has been sensational since he joined the club, but he hasn’t been at his best since returning from injury. In truth, it’s pretty clear that he isn’t yet 100% fit.

Batshuayi’s goalscoring record is great this season, and in the grand scheme of things, it would make sense to save Morata for a few of Chelsea’s upcoming vital fixtures.

 Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas has had a great run in the first team this season, but his inadequacies are glaring when N’Golo Kante is not in the side. His defensive work rate is near non-existent, and it’s quickly becoming clear why he wasn’t a regular feature last season.

Even going forward he has struggled, with Alvaro Morata not feeding off his deliveries quite like Diego Costa used to.

He has a role to play in this team this season, that much is certain, but his poor work in the midfield has already cost Chelsea goals this season, and unless he is dropped, that’s only going to continue.
