“Could go the rest of the season without a win” – Newcastle fans react as they drop into the relegation zone

The Newcastle United fans were drowning their sorrows in the Transfer Tavern last night after yet another loss dragged them into the relegation zone.

Mesut Ozil’s brilliant volley was the difference at The Emirates as Arsenal triumphed 1-0 over out-of-sorts Newcastle, who are now staring relegation in the face ahead of a crucial clash against West Ham next weekend.

With West Ham and Crystal Palace both triumphing in their matches on Saturday, Newcastle have now been dragged down to 18th, one point off safety, after a string of four consecutive losses.

Newcastle fans took to Twitter in their numbers to air their views on the current situation and the possibility of relegation.

Some blamed Mike Ashley for this, claiming it was inevitable that the club would struggle given his lack of spending in the summer.
