Coventry City: Mark Robins comments on Callum O’Hare

Coventry City boss Mark Robins has commented on the potential summer signing of Callum O’Hare.

The Aston Villa academy graduate will see his current contract at Villa Park come to an end this summer having turned down numerous approaches to renew terms at his boyhood club.

Having had a superb season with the Sky Blues on a one-year loan spell, making 40 appearances in all competitions in which he scored four goals and gained seven assists, O’Hare is wanted by Robins for next season.

Coventry gained promotion to the Championship via League One this season and will now prepare for a stint in England’s second tier.

The former England under-20 international is set to receive an offer from Coventry to make a permanent move, and Robins has now touched on the matter himself.

“Those lads have been brilliant (also speaking on Liam Walsh) and I can’t thank them enough,” said Robins when asked about potential deals for both O’Hare and Walsh.

“Let’s see what transpires through this next transfer window. Like I said, they have been brilliant for us and we have loved working with them.

“They have been great, fitted into an exciting group and been part of it and led some of it, so everyone has been outstanding.”

It seems that O’Hare has made his mind up about his future and it seems to be away from Villa Park.

Whether or not the youngster will look to remain with Coventry is another debate, especially given that he has impressed so much and bigger clubs could show interest.

One thing Coventry could have on their side is a the bonus of offering him first team football, consistently and the fact that he already knows the club well from this season.
