Coventry City are set to offer a contract to Callum O’Hare with the youngster said to have rejected a new deal with Aston Villa.
The Villa academy graduate will see his current contract at Villa Park come to an end this summer and a potential move to the Sky Blues is now gaining pace.
Spending the 2019/2020 season on loan with Coventry, O’Hare performed well, scoring four goals and gaining seven assists in the process.
The youngster’s form played a big part in the club’s automatic promotion to the Championship via League One and they will now look to keep hold of his services through to next term.
Having already turned down numerous approaches to renew terms at his boyhood club, it is now being reported that a final offer has been rejected.
The report of a contract offer for the midfielder claims that the English Football League will allow the Sky Blues to submit an offer after the pandemic pushed back a deadline for clubs to offer deals to players currently at rival clubs.
Callum O’Hare’s role at Coventry this season makes his summer transfer a must for the club and boss Mark Robins.
The youngster has been impressive and he, like all at the Sky Blues, will relish the chance of testing their ability and togetherness in England’s second flight.
Villa, who have seemingly lost the player, could well face him next term, if they fail to move themselves out of the bottom three in the Premier League.
