Crystal Palace will have to pay West Brom just £900,000 for defender Nathan Ferguson following a tribunal, The Athletic report.

And, as to be expected, a number of Palace supporters have been sharing their thoughts on the transfer news on social media.

The 21-year-old was set to make the move to Selhurst Park back in January 2020 in a deal worth an initial £8m. However, that fell through due to a failed medical, with Ferguson then joining the club in the summer when his Baggies contract expired.

Ferguson is still yet to play for Palace due to various injury issues but has since returned to light training. It has now been reported that the Eagles will have to hand over just £900,000 to West Brom, with no right of appeal from the Championship side.

Palace fans react

Palace correspondent Matt Woosnam shared the news on Wednesday evening. It didn’t take long for Eagles fans to interact with the news, with one labelling it as 'incredible' given the gap between the initial £8m valuation and the eventual cost of the deal.

“Eze, Olise and Ferguson for a combined fee of <£30m is sensational business from the club. Let’s hope Ferguson can stay fit”

“Palace are at it again with low prices for quality players with lots of talent and potential. This could end up being a massive steal if Ferguson ends up being a key player for us and plays well on the pitch.”

“Hopefully we'll see Ferguson fit and playing soon. Incredible business though, given what WBA wanted.”

Let's all just take a minute to remember how angry everyone at #cpfc was when John Bostock left for £700k under a tribunal to Spurs. Whilst this benefits Palace, it's clear to everyone that £900,000 is not a fair fee for Nathan Ferguson. The tribunal system is a joke
