Days to go: 1 in, 2 out – The transfer business Chelsea need to conduct ASAP

Our Chelsea fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been singing Antonio Conte’s praises for some time now and a few deals before the deadline would only boost that further.

The Blues have been near irresistible for the duration of the campaign with their 3-4-3 system sparking a hugely popular trend in the division.

The likes of Diego Costa being in red hot form has of course helped, too, and so things at the moment are looking pretty rosy for the boys in blue.

The other title challengers will still feel they can reel in the Stamford Bridge club but our landlord reckons with the right moves in the coming days, they might as well give the trophy to the west London side now.

That in mind, then, here are two outs and an in Chelsea need to complete before the end of this transfer window…

 Out: Branislav Ivanovic

The switch to the back three – whilst it helped out the team as a whole – left Ivanovic in the lurch.

Indeed, the Serbian was a regular in the side at the start of the season but things have gone south for him since and now he looks a serious bit-part player. Our landlord can only see it going one way for him now, too, and so he needs to consider a move away to try and prolong his career.

 In: Kalidou Koulibaly

Our landlord thinks that if the Blues sign Koulibaly it is going to be curtains for the Premier League title race this season.

That’s because it would allow Cesar Azpilicueta to play as a right wing back and all of a sudden you have a team with quality players all playing in their strongest position. That makes for a potent mix and so our local Blues are hoping Conte can make this one happen.

Out: Michy Batshuayi

Our landlord feels a bit sorry for Batshuayi who is clearly a talented player but needs a break to show that off.

When he’s come on for Chelsea he’s been a bit hit and miss given his lack of minutes and a run in a side on loan could be the answer to his problems. Then, when he comes back, he should be able to stake a serious claim for starting next season.
