While this season has proved to be somewhat of a mixed bag for the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern, their recent 4-0 win over Manchester City has seemingly lit the fires of optimism once more on Merseyside.

While their recent 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace was nowhere near as exciting, the Toffees are once again sweet on their chances of progressing under Ronald Koeman, backed by huge investment.

Their January transfer market has been fairly busy thus far, having already signed the likes of Ademola Lookman and Morgan Schneiderlin, while allowing players such as Oumar Niasse and Gerard Deulofeu to depart.

Still, backed by big investment, the punters in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of yet more dealings on that front. Allowing players the chance to settle in at Goodison Park for six months ahead of next season could have a positive impact on the complexion of what is hopefully a better campaign.

With that in mind, here’s the business they want done with just days to go in the window, ONE incoming and TWO outgoings.

INCOMING: Leon Bailey

During their stunning win over Manchester City, the fact that three youngsters played so well was almost better than the eventual 4-0 scoreline, with the likes of Tom Davies, Ademola Lookman and Mason Holgate on form.

So the notion of seeing more talented prospects arrive at Goodison Park is a truly exciting one. Linked with a move for Genk attacker Leon Bailey, the punters in the bar are dreaming about the 19-year-old.

A thrillingly incisive winger, he’d be a great addition.

OUTGOING: Phil Jagielka

While the England international remains club captain, Koeman has seen fit drop of him late as the Funes Mori-Williams begins to develop at Goodison Park.

As popular as the 34-year-old has been over the years, links with a move away should be jumped on. Getting a fee for man not currently in the side coming to the end of his career would be great business.

OUTGOING: Darron Gibson

A talented player on his day, surely Darron Gibson won’t be an Everton player much longer. The arrival of Schneiderlin only pushes the former Man United ace further down the pecking order and he should be cut adrift as soon as possible.
