The Nottingham Forest fans here in the Transfer Tavern are about to embark on an all-day session at the bar, to celebrate the news that Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner is set to re-sign for the Reds on loan.
The central midfielder had a successful spell with the Reds during last season and will now return until the end of the current campaign.
During his 18-game spell with the Reds last term, Gardner built up a solid rapport with the club’s supporters and left the club with a heavy heart to return to his parent club, where first-team football has been hard to come by.
His four goals last season left punters in the Tavern amazed, with every goal coming in the form of a long-range thunderbolt.
