Aston Villa fans were full of praise for manager Dean Smith after Saturday marked his second anniversary at the club.
The club’s official Twitter account commemorated the English tactician with a timeline that was merged into a video of all his best moments, most notably guiding Villa back into the Premier League in 2019.

Smith helped his side avoid relegation at the end of last season after picking up a crucial point against West Ham, which was just enough to retain their top-flight status.
He is now held in even higher regard than following his side’s stunning 7-2 victory against the champions Liverpool at Villa Park before the international break, which maintained their fantastic record to begin the campaign.

With this in mind, there was no divisive chatter in response to the club’s video, as the Villa Park faithful were united in their support for the “quite incredible” Smith, acknowledging what a superb job he has done.
