Defender ‘definitely’ looking to leave Leeds this summer (not Taylor)

Breathe a slight sigh of relief, Leeds fans. Although a defender wants to leave Elland Road on a permanent basis this summer, the man in question is Giuseppe Bellusci.

Whites followers in the Transfer Tavern have been sweating over the futures of Charlie Taylor and Pontus Jansson amid links with Liverpool and Southampton of late, with there a distinct fear that missing out on promotion may cost the club some of their key talents.

One man that does want out, though, is Bellusci, whose agent has been speaking to CalcioMercato24 about his client, who is currently on loan at Serie A side Empoli.

Michelangelo Minieri was asked about the future of the centre-back, to which he said:

“The boy is very well located at Empoli, he’s settled quickly into an important and consolidated group, now he expects to achieve the objectives with the club.

“He definitely wants to stay in Serie A, but obviously now we just finish off with Empoli and attain salvation, then there will be time to plan for the future.”

The 27-year-old joined Leeds in 2014 from Catania and made in excess of 50 league appearances before moving back to Italy over the summer, and it seems that he’s unlikely to pull on the white shirt in Yorkshire again.
