According to Gianluca di Marzio, Liverpool have made a loan offer with a right to buy for Ousmane Dembele, but the Frenchman does not want to move to Anfield as he wants to fight for his place at Barcelona.
Dembele moved to Spain for £96.8m in 2017, but injuries have stopped him from filling his full potential, which could see him leave through the exit door.

The Reds are interested in the 23-year-old, says Di Marzio, and he says they have already made an offer for the former Borussia Dortmund ace. However, he wants to fight for his place at the Camp Nou and has therefore turned them down.
When £50.4m-valued Dembele – as per Transfermarkt – was in Germany, he was a sight to behold. In his one and only season at the Signal Iduna Park, he scored 10 goals and provided a huge 22 assists, even though he started the 2016/17 campaign as a teenager. However, the move to the Blaugrana appears to have hindered him.

Under Jurgen Klopp, though, he could be rejuvenated, and a loan with a right to buy option would reduce the risk for the Reds. They would be able to see how he adapted to the Premier League and could observe whether he has the hunger to succeed on these shores.
Now, though, it looks like they will never get the chance. What becomes of Dembele, though, remains to be seen.
