Despite their derby day defeat, the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have an awful lot to shout about these days.

Boasting a side that includes the likes of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Red Devils finally have a squad fitting of a club of their stature.

Still, amid Jose Mourinho’s overhaul at Old Trafford, there has been a big name cast to the sidelines.

As reported by the Guardian yesterday, Bastian Schweinsteiger was included in the club’s books as a £6.7m write-off.

Out of Jose Mourinho’s plans at the Theatre of Dreams, it is a fall from grace for the World Cup winner, who joined the club only last year.

Injuries and a lack of form have seen the 32-year-old struggle since joining from Bayern Munich, where he established himself as one of the most illustrious names in European football.

Still, while the United fans in the Tavern are firmly behind the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’, some have taken to Twitter to express their sympathy for the German.
