Considering his standing in the Premier League, the recent news surrounding Everton star Romelu Lukaku has caused a storm amongst the punters propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern.
One of the most prolific marksmen in the league, the Belgian seemingly won’t pen a new deal at Goodison Park, sparking a raft of links with some of the biggest clubs England has to offer. The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United have been touted as potentially interested parties of late, though it’s not the first time a player has been linked between United and the Toffees.
Red Devils skipper Wayne Rooney has recently been talked about as a potential Everton target in what would be a sentimental return for the England legend, having left Merseyside back in 2004. Perhaps unsurprisingly, United supporting users on social media are pretty happy to see the two individuals swap clubs over the course of the summer, such are the nature of Rooney’s last few months.
