The resident Hammers in the Transfer Tavern were disappointed that their side couldn’t hold on for a point at the Eithad Stadium yesterday afternoon.
David Moyes side offered a much improved performance after their drubbing at Everton in mid-week, but the wait for his first victory at the club continues. West Ham frustrated Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side during the first-half as their compact defensive shape proved difficult to break down.
After defending valiantly for the majority of the first-half, West Ham took a shock lead in Manchester after Angelo Ogbonna rose highest to head home Aaron Cresswell’s delivery following a short-corner routine. However, the goal spurred Man City into action and they produced two goals in the second-half to send West Ham back to East London with nothing to show for their efforts.
In the aftermath of proceedings, The Hammers official Twitter page published a poll asking the supporters to vote for their man of the match.
The eventual winner of the poll with an emphatic 56% of the vote was West Ham’s goalkeeper Adrian who was replaced the ineligible Joe Hart.

Judging by the response on Twitter, Joe Hart’s position as number one goalkeeper at the club is certainly far from secure after his inconsistent beginning to life at the London Stadium.
And if the fans have any influence on Moyes’ team selection then Adrian will have a great chance of retaining his place for the visit of Chelsea next weekend…
