The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased that business is getting underway at Old Trafford…
The Red Devils have been quiet on the transfer front so far this month, and whilst a number of players have been touted with a move in recent weeks – Mourinho has yet to bring anyone in.
This could now be starting to change however, with the first piece of official business of the month finally confirmed by Man Utd.
As stated on their official Twitter account, young goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has officially joined Aston Villa until the end of the season – with the temporary move seemingly an effort to get Johnstone a bit of game time this season.

Villa, who are seriously struggling this season, have been on the hunt for a goalkeeper – and it would appear as though Johnstone will fill that void perfectly.
Stuck behind David De Gea in the Man Utd first team, a starting berth has always been unlikely – and so our landlord thinks that a temporary move away makes a lot of sense.
Johnstone is a talented goalkeeper in his own right, though, and a few of the Man Utd fans in the Tavern have often touted him to be given a chance alongside De Gea. At 23-years-old, Johnstone is certainly a player for the future – but his shot stopping and aerial displays are certainly placing him in a good spot ahead of the loan deal.
The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are backing him to get more of a chance next season, particularly if he performs well on loan this year.
