The Swansea City fan club are in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern on this Tuesday afternoon and as they munch away on the cheesy chips the landlord has kindly taken over to them.
They are drawn to an article on Wales Online, that says a former fan favourite could soon be on his way out of the Liberty Stadium.
The article in questions suggests that Spanish striker Michu and his representatives have reached an agreement with the Welsh club to terminate his contract after three years.
The 29-year-old will go down as probably the best £2 million ever spent by the Swans after he smashed a whopping 22 goals in his first ever season playing English football – and in the Premier League as well!
In a remarkable fall from grace, the striker looks set to join a Spanish club in a league three leagues lower than La Liga, following his contract termination with the Swans.
One Swans supporting punter is eagerly awaiting his pint from the landlord and thinks the saga is a sad tale. He said:
“For me there is more than meets the eye with this. Something must have gone off with the Spaniard for him to be willing to go and play Spanish non league football.”
Swans fans… Do you agree? What are the chances of Michu playing top level European football again? What is your best memory of the striker?
