The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern were gutted to see their winning run ended by Brighton yesterday afternoon.
Indeed, our resident Geordies were left frustrated following the meeting at the Amex and the punters propping up our bar can’t believe Tomer Hemed wasn’t sent off. The man who scored the goal appeared to stamp on Toon star DeAndre Yedlin, though wasn’t pulled up for it, much to the chagrin of our punters clad in black and white.
Perhaps even more annoying for the Newcastle United fans here in our bar, the incident wasn’t looked into on Match of the Day 2, or by many pundits at all. That’s a view shared by users on Twitter, who took to social media to vent their fury at the fact the Seagulls striker seemingly got away scot-free.
Having said that, here’s a closer look at how Newcastle United fans vented their annoyance at MOTD 2’s failure to cover Hemed’s stamp.
still waiting for the news Hemed has been banned ……. #nufc #fa #BHAFC

@motd Can you explain why there was “no analysis” of the Hemed stamping incident on your programme last night. #doublestandards #bias #NUFC

No show of the Hemed stamp on MOTD but if it was Shelvey or Mitrovic they’d be all over it! It stinks of double standards! #NUFC

In typical, biased fashion, absolutely nothing on @BBCMOTD re Hemed’s stamp, despite being ALL OVER Ritchie & Mitro of late! Pathetic #nufc

is anyone surprised that there was no mention of #Hemed stamping on Yedlin on @BBCMOTD #MOTD2? Hopefully he'll get a 3 match ban #NUFC
