Drop them: Guardiola must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Man City XI against Arsenal

The Manchester City supporters here in the Transfer Tavern have been a little frustrated with their team’s form this season and their hopes of winning the Premier League title look pretty remote at the moment, as they trail leaders Chelsea by 10 points.

The Citizens will look to go and reclaim their Premier League crown next season and Pep Guardiola will naturally hope to prove that he can be a glowing success on these shores during his time with the club.

Some City supporters are in the Tavern having an early morning fry-up courtesy of the landlord’s wife who was up early to cook breakfast for the group before their big game with Arsenal. The ardent bunch of supporters are hopeful ahead of today’s contest, stating that it could be a chance to get one over the Gunners before their FA Cup clash later this month.

Our landlord looks at two players who could be left out of today’s Manchester City team.

Yaya Toure

It took Toure a little while to convince Pep Guardiola that he was part of his plans this season and his performances of late might suggest that he is ready for a period of rest.

A few City fans in the Tavern are puffing on their e-cigarettes here in the Tavern and they think that Toure might be replaced today, stating that Guardiola could instead look to go for a little more flair in the middle of the park.

Sergio Aguero

The Argentinean missed a whole host of chances in City’s last game against Liverpool and he could be dropped to the bench for the Arsenal game.

Aguero has come under fire from certain City fans here in the Transfer Tavern this season and one in particular has stated that he wouldn’t be at all surprised if the little magician is sold in the summer.
