The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have not been totally convinced by some of Pep Guardiola’s management this season and many of the contingent are hopeful that next season can be the time when the Spanish boss really shows his true expertise at the club.

It was hoped that the ex-Barcelona boss could come in to the club and work his magic on both the domestic and European stage, following a short period of relative underachievement from the Citizens.

It hasn’t quite materialised and Pep must know look to put a smile on City fans’ faces between now and the end of the campaign – especially those punters here in the Tavern!

City take on a dogged Burnley side this afternoon and ahead of the contest our landlord has been looking at two players who could find themselves dropped when the team is announced today.

Yaya Toure

Given Toure’s relationship with Pep at the start of the current campaign there would be little surprise to see him lost his place in the side again at some point this season.

A couple of Citizens supporters have been putting their bets on ahead of the day’s football and they are in agreement that the Ivorian is way past his best, stating that the time might come at the end of the season to look towards an alternative.

Jesus Navas

The little Spaniard has not really taken to life in the Premier League and he is another performer who could be cast aside during the summer months by Manchester City.

A couple of Citizens supporters are having a game of pool and they stop from their game to tell the landlord of their hatred towards the little winger, stating that they would happily drive him to his next club if it meant him no longer being a City player!
