The Transfer Tavern’s dedicated landlord is seriously considering putting some extra door staff at the entrance of his bar this weekend, with Liverpool set to travel to Manchester City in what looks like a mouthwatering Premier League contest.

City will be looking to avenge their 1-0 reverse at the hands of the Reds back in December and this weekend’s match could be massive in the race to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

After a disappointing Champions League exit in midweek, Pep knows he must work hard between now and the end of the season, if he is to put a smile back on the faces of the ardent City supporters here in the Tavern.

A group of City fans have started on the shots and the killer pool nice and early and they are talking about who should start for the Citizens this afternoon.

The Serbian defender has found himself playing out of position as a central defender this season and his frailties were ousted during Wednesday’s defeat to Monaco in the Champions League.

With natural central defenders being left on the bench the time must be now to restore one of those alongside John Stones. One City fan is throwing some darts here in the Tavern and he is in agreement that Kolarov should not be anywhere near the centre of defence.

When City went back ahead in Wednesday’s Champions League game the obvious introduction was that of Yaya Toure, yet Pep chose to leave his influential Ivorian on the bench.

One City fan is chatting to the landlord and he was also dumbfounded by the City boss’ inability to see that Toure was the obvious introduction, stating that he should be a certain starter in today’s game.
