The Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern were buzzing on Tuesday evening after they witnessed their team earn a credible draw against Manchester United, in a game in which they were robbed of three points thanks to a last-gasp penalty by the Red Devils.

The Toffees faithful would have taken a point at the start however and they are hopeful that the team can secure another positive result against Leicester City this afternoon.

It has been a pretty good season for Everton under boss Ronald Koeman and they will still be hopeful of securing a place in next season’s Europa League via the Premier League this campaign.

With another tough game on the horizon, talk among the Toffees’ supporters has turned towards which players will get the nod to start for the Toffees today and our landlord opted to look at two players who could be dropped for the Leicester City contest.

Tom Davies

The new kid on the block at Goodison Park has been a revelation since bursting on to the scene, although the fact he hasn’t played a great deal of senior football could mean that he is line for a rest period.

One Everton fan is having a go on the fruit machine here in the Tavern and he thinks that Davies has been great since announcing his arrival with a quality performance against Manchester City, although he does concede that a rest might do him good ahead of the final push this season.

Ross Barkley

The Liverpool-born midfielder came under-fire this week from former Everton man Leon Osman, who claimed that the youngster hasn’t really kicked on since he was 18-years-old and his form this season has been erratic to say the least.

One Toffees supporter has been chatting to the landlord this past week and he has said that Barkley is far too inconsistent this season, stating that he needs to get his head in gear if he is to stay part of Ronald Koeman’s long-term plans.
