Juan Manuel Mata’s arrival, and subsequent good form, at Chelsea may have spelt the end for Florent Malouda’s time in West London. German giants Bayern Munich seem eager to take advantage of Malouda’s recent fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, and are looking to bring in the French international in the January transfer window.
Andre Villas-Boas is keen to lower the overall age of his squad, and seems to have put his faith in the youthful energy of Mata in preference to the experience Malouda offers. Normally a first-team regular at the Bridge, Malouda has started in just 2 of Chelsea’s opening 4 Premier League games, and found himself substituted in both games.
Although the winger reassured fans over his commitment to see out his contract at Chelsea following the arrival of Mata, his lack of favour with Villas-Boas, and the interest of Champions League contenders Bayern Munich, may be enough to tempt him into leaving London. The Sun is reporting that Bayern are ready to make Chelsea an offer for the player as soon as the January transfer window opens, a move which would see Malouda link up with international teammate Frank Ribery.
