‘Embarassing’, ‘Pathetic’ - Chelsea fans fume at player comments following Man City tie

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling rather downbeat today. The Blues lost, once again, in the Premier League over the weekend – with Man City comfortably dispatching of the English champions.

In truth, it was one of Chelsea’s worst performances of the season. They clearly didn’t set out to win the game, with Antonio Conte’s men sitting deep from the first minute, and even when Bernardo Silva scored – nothing really changed.

It almost looked as though they were settling for a 1-0 loss towards the end of the game.

Nonetheless, the Blues’ players are putting on a brave face at the moment, with some taking to Twitter since the final whistle to discuss the fixture.

One such player was Antonio Rudiger, who took to Twitter last night to reveal his disappointment in the result, before noting his desire to make things right over the coming days.

Despite his optimism, it doesn’t appear as though the Chelsea fans are very impressed. To the contrary, they’re responded to Rudiger’s comments with pure anger – describing him, and Chelsea’s limp performance, with words like ’embarrassing’ and ‘pathetic’.

Indeed, it’s fair to say that fans are not happy at all.

Disappointing, that has to be the worst performance I have ever seen. Been going to Chelsea since 1970, we had people walking at 1-0 down . Disgraceful .
