There is drama here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by the Daily Express that Arsenal forward Gervinho could well be on his way out of the club.
The Ivorian has been linked with a move away from the Gunners for a while now and it seems that a shock move to Champions League quarter-finalists Galatasaray could well be on the cards after the Turkish side made it clear to both the player and Arsenal that a move was interesting to them.
Arsene Wenger is determined to land Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic this summer and as we all know is prepared to pay big money in order to do so.
Now it seems that the £12 million he could gain from selling Gervinho looks a more and more attractive idea everyday. Not only does Wenger have his eye on Jovetic, but he wants a new keeper and also at least one centre back and a defensive midfielder to replace the injury prone Abu Diaby meaning that despite the £70 million transfer kitty on offer, any extra money for players who have been deemed surplus to requirements would come in very handily.
This is not to mention that may Gunners fans feel Gervinho isn’t good enough for the North Londoners anyway!
