The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern are really rather excited about the visit of Liverpool this weekend.
Indeed, while the idea of squaring off against the Reds’ rampant attack would scare many sets of supporters, the punters here clad in black and white believe that’s what being back in the Premier League is all about.
So, it’s safe to say they’re in a good mood.
That’s been made even better by the release of the club’s official squad photo. Amid all the smiling faces, with Rafa Benitez front and centre, there is one notable absence.
Jack Colback has been left OUT of the snap. The former Sunderland man is thought to have fallen out with Benitez on the training ground earlier this summer and wasn’t included in the 25-man Premier League squad, after a difficult season last time out.
While he was expected to thrive in the Championship, Colback invoked the ire of our fans with some poor performances, so they’re happy about his snub.
