According to The Telegraph, Everton are ready to duke it out with West Brom for the signing of Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Both the Baggies and the Toffees fans here in the Transfer Tavern are excited by the prospect of getting the Frenchman to their club as they both believe he is a top class player on his day.
Indeed, when he was at Southampton he was regarded very highly by many as one of the best in the league at what he did but his move to United just simply has not worked out.
He was in and out of the team under Louis Van Gaal whilst he has now seen playing time limited even further by Jose Mourinho this year at Old Trafford.
And now, it seems, that one of the Premier League sides will try to offer him an escape from the Red Devils.
A fee of around £20 million has been touted by the report and that would underline the new financial power both Everton and West Brom have after significant signings in the summer window earlier this year.
Our landlord reckons Schneiderlin needs to jump ship, too, and thinks if West Brom were to get him they’d be really making a statement.
