Everton: Andre Gomes post online has supporters praising midfielder as return nears

Responding to a Twitter post by Everton midfielder Andre Gomes, which took a positive outlook at the remainder of the season and his recovery from an ankle injury, many Toffees supporters have taken the opportunity to praise the player even further.

Gomes, who recently turned out for a friendly behind closed doors, playing the full 60 minutes with no reported injury concerns, is edging nearer his comeback after recovering from ankle damage sustained during the Toffees’ 1-1 draw with Spurs back in early November. The La Masia graduate had been a key figure for Everton before his injury, debatably offering more options creatively in midfield than current favourite Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Gomes, compared to the Icelandic playmaker, has averaged more completed dribbles per game (1.4) and a higher pass success rate (83.4%) over his limited game time, as per WhoScored.com – perhaps highlighting the potential influence he could have upon his return.

As a result, many supporters are looking forward to his comeback – with this latest Twitter post possibly hinting the fact it could be imminent. Find all of their best reactions down below.
