Following a recent post dissecting Marcel Brands’ arrivals and departures since joining the club, fans are undecided on his Everton business so far (via @TheGwladysSt).
Players of note who Brands has brought into the club include Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne and £58.5million rated Richarlison (Transfermarkt). The Dutchman has also offloaded Idrissa Gueye, Ramiro Funes Mori and Wayne Rooney.
However, despite some positive signings for the club and the shifting of deadwood, fans aren’t convinced that his business eye is as sharp as it should be. The club’s net-spend under Brands is -£114.8million after forking out £222.2million on new players and seeing eight players leave as free agents (also via Transfermarkt).
Many supporters believe that the 57-year-old is on the right track and is slowly but surely bringing in the right people, but others aren’t best pleased. One fan is furious over the fact Brands has ‘wasted £124million’ on Michael Kean, Alex Iwobi and Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
Another fan has backed Brands, stating it was ‘always going to be tough to get rid of the flops on ridiculous wages’.
Wasted 124 million on Gbamin, Kean, and Iwobi.

slowly getting a decent squad of players in. Not his fault for the tripe hes inherrited, always going to be tough to get rid of the flops on ridiculous wages a certain man gave them. good as can be so far, not perfect but no one ever gets every transfer perfect each are gambles.

Below average. None of his signings, outside of Richarlison will see Everton fighting for top 4 on a regular basis. Didn’t want to write him off too early, but it’s proven now his players aren’t up to it.

Had a horrible job on his hands after the previous regime, bought good young players that will improve and got rid of some of the deadwood. Happy so far and will improve next season with Carlo coaching the team.

I’m at a loss at what he does on a daily basis tbh. Pops up for a smile and a photo every now and again, but I thought he was signing players that the manager has to deal with, not be the manager’s secretary for transfers. I’ve not been impressed.

Richarlison aside as i consider that primarily a silva signing. 4/5 of his bigger money signings I think have/are/will be terrible.

He’s done his job, but still a long way to go. There is clearly more talent in the club, just have yet to shake the demons.

Everton fans, how would you rate Marcel Brands’ business at the club so far?
