Everton: Cenk Tosun wants to win silverware with the Blues

Cenk Tosun has said he wants to win trophies with Everton and is full of praise for the players and fans.

In a recent interview with Futbol Arena (via Sport Witness), the Turkey international has spoken out about his feelings towards the Merseyside outfit.

“Winning the Premier League title is a hard task given the presence of Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United,” Tosun said. “However, I think we can win the FA Cup or League Cup. Because the club is running in a very professional way, and we have quality players.”

The 28-year-old was sent out on loan to Crystal Palace at the beginning of the year but he returned to Everton after just two months following an ACL injury. Tosun’s future with the club is uncertain but the forward is adamant he wants to stay at Goodison and be a part of ‘a very big club’.

“I didn’t know this club has a rich history before I came in,” he continued. “I think we have the best fans in England. We are playing in a historic stadium in Goodison Park.”

The former Besiktas player has just ten goals in blue across 51 total appearances (via Transfermarkt), and since the emergence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, it seems Tosun is somewhat of a spare part.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, Carlo Ancelotti has plans to upheave several deadweight players this summer, including Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse. The Turkish striker is contracted until 2022, but after his failure to impress and a serious knee injury, it’s likely Everton will want to cash in on what they can get as they continue to grow and transition this side.
