According to reports from Sky Sports, the Toffees are in talks to sign the Italian youngster, in a deal which could set the Goodison Park club back some £36m, though Juventus are thought to want to insert a buy-back clause.

The 19-year-old burst into form last season as he fired in six goals for the Italian giants, but with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala on the books in Turin, Kean will be well aware his first-team chances are once again going to be limited.

Everton though are in the market for a new striker after seeing the likes of Cenk Tosun fail to impress in recent times, and will have looked at what Kean has to offer in great detail before committing to such an expensive deal.

Kean’s attacking stats were impressive last season, with the striker only needing just over four shots per goal (per FCTables.com), a stat which was even less when you look at his six Serie A goals, with Kean needing only 3.3 shots to register each goal.

That sort of clinical finishing will appeal to manager Marco Silva, who has plenty of creative options from attacking midfield to lay on chances for the impressive Kean. Gylfi Sigurdsson, for example, averaged just under two key passes in the Premier League last season, leaving him just outside the top 10 players for key passes made (via WhoScored).

What a superb piece of business this would be for the Toffees.

Kean would, in any other time period, be one of the main men at Juventus, but such is the talent they have on the books, he is having to look elsewhere.

Everton have always looked a striker short ever since Romelu Lukaku left, and Kean could well prove to be the ideal replacement.
