Following former Everton midfielder Darron Gibson’s short term move to Salford City, many Toffees supporters have debated online over whether the Republic of Ireland international will have a great spell for the League Two side or if he will flop under Graham Alexander.
The 32-year-old, who made 69 appearances for the Toffees whilst scoring two goals and assisting six others in all competitions on Merseyside (Transfermarkt), has been floating around the lower leagues since his departure – going through spells at Sunderland and Wigan Athletic.
Last season, plying his trade for the Latics, Gibson accumulated a 92% pass accuracy from inside his own half on average as per SofaScore – perhaps indicating he could have something more to offer, especially in England’s fourth tier. Despite those numbers, the former Manchester United academy graduate had been released by Wigan last summer – signing for Salford as a free agent until the end of the season.
As a result, these Toffees supporters have been debating his overall worth on social media – find all of their best comments from Twitter down below.
Tbf, even after his troubles, he should smash it down there with his ability!

Facially he loks like he has halved his weight. Great footballer but really slow across the pitch.
