The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are hoping that they will take him off their hands…
Memphis Depay has endured a torrid time in the Premier League thus far – and it would appear that Everton could be the club to end his Man Utd nightmare.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are considering a loan move for Depay in January, as Koeman looks to add a bit of extra depth to his attacking line.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is, of course, Dutch – and so will be well aware of how good Depay was in his homeland – quickly emerging as the brightest talent coming out of the Netherlands prior to his move to the Premier League.
Interestingly, a report produced by the Sun several days ago suggested that Man Utd themselves were keen on moving Depay on – and so this interest from Everton could play right into their hands.
Memphis Depay has never really hit the heights of his final season with PSV in the Premier League – with the winger failing to get even close to the 22 goals that he scored in the 2014/15 season. In fact, he is yet to make a Premier League start under Mourinho this season – which is a testament to how little the Man Utd boss trusts him.
The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern think that a loan move to Everton could be the perfect scenario. Koeman is a master craftsman, and he could be the man to get the best out of his compatriot – with a move back to Man Utd the obvious long-term goal.
The Everton fans in the Tavern aren’t so sure though. They feel that Depay has done nothing to warrant an extended stay in the Premier League – and have noted that he would struggle to get into Everton’s first team.
