Everton fans were furious after it was revealed that Cenk Tosun could be shipped off to Turkish side Besiktas on loan until the end of the season, according to reports in Turkey.
The Turkey international has never really hit top form since his £27m move from the Super Lig side in January 2018 and recently responded to criticism he received following his side’s 2-0 defeat to Norwich City back in November.
Tosun was not included in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup, which encouraged further doubt on his future by the Turkish press, as per Sport Witness.
TRT Spor (via Sport Witness) revealed that Besiktas manager Abdullah Avci has placed Tosun on his list of main transfer targets this month and wants to bring him in on a six-month loan to regain some form for Euro 2020.
Supporters were unhappy with Tosun’s current situation and made their feelings clear about it on social media, particularly with the amount of money that Tosun initially cost the club, only for the Blues to hand Tosun back on loan.
